Personal Support Worker

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, Dryden Regional Health Centre's Personal Support Worker provides comprehensive compassionate care to a variety of clients. We are a community hospital that is committed to patient centred care, evidence based practice and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with ADLs
  • Acts as a client advocate. Respects the dignity, and rights of each individual receiving care within the facility
  • Offers support to client and family as required
  • Promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to client centered care
  • Communicates effectively with all providers of care
  • Maintains competence in all clinical skills pertaining to his/her area of work
  • Facilitates client/family education
  • Transports stable patients to other departments for admission or for diagnostic tests
  • Assists with moving and ambulating patients
  • Assists patients with dressing and undressing
  • Informs the primary care nurse of any patient concerns
  • Assists in restraining patients during procedures when required.

Qualifications:

  • APPROVED Personal Support Worker program or equivalent
  • Current CPR
  • Demonstrate Computer and Typing Skills
  • Understanding and commitment to confidentiality
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high demand environment
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect
  • Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status to be presented prior to hire
