The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following management position:

Director - Capital Planning/Projects & Compliance

The Director - Capital Planning/Projects & Compliance is a member of the management team directly responsible for efficient operation of strategic Capital Planning and Projects, legal and regulatory compliance. They play a major role in providing guidance and information, analysis and advice to other management and senior management on capital projects and assists the senior management team, Board of Directors, OH and Ministry in planning and decision making on an operational and strategic basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive capital planning strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives
  • Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate potential capital projects, identifying risks and opportunities for investment
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, department heads, and clinical staff to assess capital needs and priorities
  • Prepare and present business cases, financial reports, and recommendations to the hospital's executive team and governing board for approval of capital expenditures
  • Oversee the execution of approved capital projects, ensuring timely completion within budgetary constraints
  • Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations, advising leadership on potential impacts and ensuring ongoing compliance
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Identify and assess legal and financial risks associated with proposed initiatives or ongoing operations, developing mitigation strategies to protect the hospital's interests
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the hospital in interactions with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and community organizations
  • Works with the Ministry of Health, OHA, other providers and external stakeholders on projects, problems and issues of common concern and interest. Promotes strategic alliances and partnerships with other organizations and agencies to facilitate common goals and objectives

 

Qualifications:

The role of Director- Capital Projects/ Planning & Compliance is demanding, requiring an exceptional combination of leadership ability, a demonstrated track record of achievement, and a variety of personal and professional attributes equal to the opportunity.

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

  • University degree in business management, administration, finance, healthcare management or related discipline
  • A minimum 5 years of progressively responsible leadership roles
  • Experience in and current knowledge of the Hospital industry
  • Proficiency in interpreting contracts and the ability to negotiate terms
  • Experience in leading large scale change initiatives with demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects to meet aggressive timelines
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects.
  • Experience in leveraging data and evidence to inform decision-making and innovative practices
  • Proven team leadership and experience in capacity planning, and health care transformations
  • Strong personal leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour

  • Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status to be presented prior to hire
