The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position:
Permanent Full-Time Cook
Reporting to the Director, Patient Food Services, the Cook is responsible for preparing patient meals, cafeteria service for staff and visitors, catering, and other departmental duties as required. This position is scheduled Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
Cafeteria Service
Prepares and provides hot food service to staff and visitors.
Operates the point-of-sale system.
Cleaning & Sanitation
Follows sanitary procedures in food preparation, handling, and storage.
Sanitizes equipment and food-contact surfaces daily.
Completes weekly and monthly cleaning tasks as assigned.
Ordering & Inventory
Places grocery and dairy orders as required.
Receives deliveries, checks for accuracy, and stores items appropriately.
Monitors food, fridge, and freezer temperatures, documenting according to standards.
Other Duties
Supports Meals on Wheels preparation and assembly as needed.
Answers phone requests from units.
Trains new employees when assigned.
Requirements:
This is a union position. Compensation will be as per the Collective Agreement starting at $23.97/hr. with comprehensive benefit and vacation entitlements as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Applicants are requested to forward a completed resume and cover letter to; hr@drhc.on.ca
