The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-oriented professional in our Environmental Services department:

Permanent Full-Time Operating Room Housekeeping Aide

The Operating Room Housekeeping Aide plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sterile environment within the Surgical Services Department. Working closely with the surgical team, this position is responsible for ensuring operating rooms, procedure rooms, and surrounding clinical areas are cleaned and prepared in accordance with infection prevention and control standards, accreditation requirements, and hospital policies. This role directly supports patient safety by maintaining an environment that enables the delivery of high-quality surgical care. Monday to Friday, Days.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and disinfect operating rooms and Surgical Services areas in accordance with infection prevention and control standards.
  • Perform routine cleaning of operating rooms and equipment.
  • Collect and dispose of general and biomedical waste.
  • Handle soiled linen and replenish departmental supplies.
  • Complete assigned work orders and maintain housekeeping equipment.
  • Follow hospital policies, infection prevention and control, and safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the Surgical Services team to support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and previous experience is an asset
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Conscientious with attention to detail
  • Ability to adhere to the DRHC's policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior

  • Immunization record must be presented prior to hirs, including Covid 19 vaccination

This is a union position. Compensation will be as per the Collective Agreement, starting salary is $25.24/hr.
