Permanent Full Time Nurse Practitioner - Dryden Area Family Health Team

The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following positions with highly motivated, team-orientated professionals in The Dryden Area Family Health Team;

Nurse Practitioner

The Dryden Area Family Health Team has established a wonderful working relationship with our hospital, primary care clinic and a diverse team of community and allied health care professions.

This is a great opportunity to grow professionally and experience affordable living in a 4 season community with a little bit of everything to offer. Our Staff for Staff Program and Workplace Wellness Committee organizes year round events and activities that help newcomers make social inroads and transition nicely into their new environment.

Job Duties.

  • Work within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario Nurse Practitioner Standards
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner's role
  • Formulates and communicates medical diagnoses
  • Provides acute and episodic care
  • Liaise on and collaborate with families and community stakeholders
  • Consults with a physician in accordance with the standards for consultation with physicians, and/or refers the patient to another health care professional
  • Recommends and facilitates referrals to other services as well as communication and networking between the primary care practice and the hospital.
  • Maintains relationships with networks, related professional organizations, and other related service providers

The main Qualifications of the Nurse Practitioner include:

  • Hold and maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the RN Extended Class.
  • Function according to the Standards of Nursing Practice from the College of Nurses of Ontario and relevant legislations.
  • Hold appropriate professional liability protection as per College of Nurses of Ontario requirement
  • Must be committed to ongoing education.

  • Problem solving skills and sound judgment.

  • Ability to work independently and self-direct / take initiative.
  • Ability to lead by example and to mentor and motivate others.
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour
  • Proven attendance record
  • Able to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect
  • Proof of COVID 19 Vaccination

This is a unionized position. Compensation and benefits will be as per CBA; salary range of $125,658-$133,302.
