The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional;

Permanent Full-Time Occupational Therapist


Reporting to the Manager- Rehabilitation Services, as an Occupational Therapist with the Dryden Regional Health Centre you will have many opportunities to challenge yourself through applying a broad range of skills to your work with our patients/clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assessments, treatment and discharge planning for a 41 bed inpatients unit.
  • Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to provide care and successful planning for patients to remain as independent as possible and work on discharging to the most appropriate setting
  • You will also be part of a robust Rehabilitation department consisting of 5.4 physiotherapist, 3.4 occupational therapists, 2.4 rehab assistants and 2 kinesiologists that provide outpatients, homecare and Family Health Team program support allowing for collaboration and consultation
  • Complete ADP applications for mobility devices, wheelchair prescription, home safety assessments, bathroom safety assessments, bathroom equipment recommendations, falls prevention teaching, kitchen assessments, cognitive assessments
  • Provide recommendations for managing changes in cognition, patient and family/care giver education

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration, or eligibility for Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Preference given to applicants who are Registered Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Authorizers in the Ambulation Aids, Wheelchair and Positioning Devices/Seating categories.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Demonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge in problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Ability to communicate clearly, teach, problem solve and organize
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as part of team
  • Effective organizational and written skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Able to work and manage a case load independently and with other multi-disciplinary team members
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct,

  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
