The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional:

Employee Health and Wellness Coordinator
Reporting to the VP- Human Resources and Support Services, the Employee Health and Wellness Coordinator will oversee the employee wellness program and occupational and non-occupational claims, including WSIB/WCB, medical leaves of absence, Long-Term Disability (LTD), return-to-work planning, and accommodations at DRHC. The role will work with employees, managers, healthcare providers, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient claim processing and employee wellness program management. This role will review and recommend improvements to disability management policies and processes, analyze data, and collaborate with internal and external resources to facilitate safe and timely return-to-work processes.
Responsibilities:
- Employee Health will maintain close communication with Management re: health initiatives
- Case Management- Short and Long term disability
- Evaluation and manage medical leaves of absence, coordinating closely with the LTD provider for seamless claim management and return-to-work planning. Develop effective relations to collaborate with the employee, human resources, management, union and relevant health care professionals to implement return to work and /or modified work programs
- Participate in case management discussions and meetings, offering insights and expertise
- Review and determine the appropriateness of medical documentation for sick leave benefits
- Maintenance and management of the Chronic Illness Program
- Maintenance and management of the Attendance Support Program
- Liaises with managers and Human Resources in the organization on any process or procedure issues impacting leaves of their staff
- Works with managers to track and monitor all absences and leaves; coordinates leave of absences with all relevant parties including employees, managers, HR, payroll and benefits
- Manages the full cycle of WSIB claims including reporting, documentation, follow-up, and resolution. Ensures accurate and timely submission of WSIB claims, maintaining compliance with policies and regulations
- Direct employees to appropriate care
- Review employee incident reports when received, and handle appropriately
- Facilitates Wellness programming and Immunization Clinics
- Manage the Wellness Committee including terms of reference and action plan with key deliverables in alignment with the wellness strategy
- Manage and update the immunization status of employee, facilitates the administration of immunizations as required and follow-up on adverse reactions
- In consultation with Human Resources, develop policies and strategies to promote and establish employee wellness throughout the organization.
- Promote a culture of safety and coordinate the systematic implementation employee wellness
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:
- Diploma in Nursing, HR, or related field, required
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, Nursing, Kinesiology or allied health or equivalent, preferred
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in aspects of disability claims management, return to work principles, and unionized environments
- Strong knowledge of Human Rights legislation
- Disability Management experience, preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Proven Attendance record
