The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position:

Temporary Full- Time

Kinesiologist

The Kinesiologist is a member of the Rehabilitation Services team and provides assessment, treatment, exercise prescription, and education services to outpatients referred by physicians. Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, the Kinesiologist supports patients in achieving improved health, mobility, and functional independence through evidence-based interventions. This role also supports Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and GLAD programs and provides education and care to surgical clients throughout their recovery journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess clients in relation to human movement and functional abilities and develop individualized exercise and treatment programs
  • Plan and implement interventions aimed at improving health, fitness, functional independence, and physical performance
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate to support identified goals
  • Assist with the delivery of Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and GLAD programs
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Support ergonomic assessments for staff
  • Collaborate with physicians and members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and communicate findings to physicians and other health care providers as required
  • Prepare reports and documentation for WSIB, insurers, home care providers, and other agencies when required
  • Participate in the supervision and evaluation of students and learners during clinical placements
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and promote safe patient care practices

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

  • Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
  • Membership with the Ontario Kinesiologists Association and professional liability insurance preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage an independent caseload
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect
  • Immunization record with Covid-19 vaccination status to be presented prior to hire
