Due to the increase in patients presenting with influenza-like illness, the Dryden Regional Health Centre (DRHC) is taking precautionary measures to ensure the continued health and protection of its patients and staff members.
The DRHC would like to advise the Public that precautions are being implemented effective immediately to prevent the spread of the influenza virus to hospital patients, staff, and volunteers.
The following measures are now in effect and will remain unless changes are deemed necessary:
- All people coming to the DRHC, both patients and visitors are asked to enter through the main hospital lobby doors;
- Screening for flu-like symptoms will be in place, and all visitors are expected to wash their hands and wear masks;
- The public is requested to limit their visiting of patients in the hospital;
- We are asking that all patients and visitors with influenza-like illness to stay at home unless symptoms are severe enough to warrant medical attention.
The safety of our patients, staff, and volunteers is our number one priority. We appreciate the public’s understanding and support and apologize in advance for any inconvenience during this challenging situation.
