Casual Dietary Aide

The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following casual position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional in our Patient Food Services department:

Dietary Aide

As a member of our Patient Food Services Department, the Dietary Aide prepares and serves menu items to clients (patients/customers), continually clean and sanitize work areas, service areas and equipment, while assisting the cook as required

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Tray Service;
  • Set up regular and theraputic diet meals and nourishments for patients based on the physicians' orders
  • Follow portion control guidelines for meal service in order to meet theraputic diet needs, nutritional requirements and budgetary requirements
  • Serve patients their trays and nourishments at the bed side.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate an industrial coffee machine, microwave, food processor, industrial mixer and blender
  • Clean and sanitize food contact surfaces that they used on a daily basis
  • Cleans up all food trays, dishes, catering, departmental and delivery carts, and pots and pans as requested
  • Follow allergy protocol procedures when delivering allergy patient meals
  • Assist the cook in the preparation of food
  • Stock supplies for the cafeteria and kitchen

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and ability to operate a dishwasher
  • Food Handling safety course, preferred
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Conscientious with attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities
  • Ability to adhere to the DRHC's policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect
  • Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status to be presented prior to hire

Shifts: Days & Weekends - 5, 8 and 12 hr. shifts

This is a unionized position. Salary is as per CBA; $23.55/hr. plus 11% in lieu of benefits. Applicants are requested to forward a completed resume and cover letter to: hr@drhc.on.ca
