Director - Health Informatics & Nursing Transformation

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive/Vice President - Patient Care Services, the Director - Health Informatics & Nursing Transformation is responsible for leading clinical informatics, nursing transformation, and professional practice initiatives that support quality patient care, innovation, and organizational excellence. The Director collaborates with leaders across the organization to drive clinical innovation, advance strategic priorities, and strengthen the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Requirments:

  • Provide operational and professional leadership in support of nursing and patient care services.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for Clinical Information Services, Meditech Expanse Clinical Operations and Optimization, and Practice Excellence & Clinical Innovation.
  • Support the development, implementation, evaluation, and sustainment of organizational and nursing policies, procedures, standards, and operational practices.
  • Promote compliance with legislation, accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to improve quality outcomes, patient safety, operational effectiveness, and patient experience.
  • Lead and support clinical information system optimization, workflow improvement, and digital health initiatives.
  • Partner with clinical leaders to support Meditech Expanse implementation, user engagement, education, and operational readiness.
  • Foster staff engagement, leadership development, recruitment, retention, and healthy work environments.
  • Participate in organizational planning, strategic initiatives, and interdisciplinary leadership activities.
  • Build collaborative relationships with regional healthcare partners and participate in provincial and regional committees as required.
  • Represent the Chief Nursing Executive as delegated.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Master's degree in nursing (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of hospital experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting.
  • Health informatics or clinical information systems experience considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, strategic planning, and quality improvement skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience supporting clinical information systems.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with DRHC's Code of Conduct, Standards of Behaviour and Core Values.

Immunization record, including proof of Covid-19 vaccination status, must be presented prior to hire.

This is a management position with a comprehensive benefits package and participation in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience $130,388- $134,414 /per annum based on 1950 hours.
