The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional:

Permanent Full-Time Substance Use Day/Evening Treatment Recovery Worker

The Substance Use Day/Evening Treatment Recovery Worker provides comprehensive assessment, supportive counselling, crisis intervention, and coordinated care to individuals experiencing substance use concerns across the continuum of care.

This role delivers structured daytime and evening outpatient programming, improving accessibility for individuals who may face barriers to traditional services. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, this position supports individuals from initial presentation through active treatment and into the community, promoting engagement, continuity of care, and recovery-oriented outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake and ongoing biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to individualized recovery plans
• Deliver structured day and evening outpatient programming, including group and individual interventions
• Provide supportive counselling, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, and harm reduction strategies
• Deliver ongoing case management, including monitoring progress and adjusting care plans as needed
• Provide crisis intervention and consultation as required
• Coordinate referrals and facilitate access to internal and external services (e.g., withdrawal management, housing, medical care, community supports)
• Support clients through pre-treatment, active treatment, and post-treatment transitions
• Maintain regular contact with clients to support engagement and continuity of care
• Deliver services through a combination of in-person, telephone, and virtual platforms
• Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and collaborative care planning
• Engage in outreach activities, including community visits and appointment support as required
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation in accordance with program standards
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners and external agencies
• Participate in program development, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives
• Provide education and support to clients and families as appropriate
• Uphold professional standards, ethical practice, and DRHC's Code of Conduct and Core Values

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Social Services or related field required; degree in Social Work, Psychology, or human services preferred
• Registration with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO) considered an asset or other relevant professional regulatory body considered an asset
• Minimum 1 year experience working with mental health and substance use concerns
• Demonstrated experience in counselling, case management, and system navigation
• Strong knowledge of substance use, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and concurrent disorders

• Suicide Intervention Training considered an asset
• Experience working with individuals in complex or high-risk situations
• Excellent assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Experience delivering group programming and/or evening services considered an asset
• Knowledge of community resources within the region is an asset
• Valid Ontario Driver's License
• Demonstrates behaviours consistent with DRHC's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour

• Immunization record, including proof of COVID-19 vaccination status must be provided prior to hire
