DRHC REVEALS NEW STRATEGIC PLAN "EMPOWERED, PROGRESSIVE, INNOVATIVE CARE"

February 16, 2023

DRYDEN, ONTARIO - The Board of Directors of the Dryden Regional Health Centre (DRHC) has unveiled their new 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, Empowered, Progressive, Innovative Care.

Empowered, Progressive, Innovative Care identifies three overarching pillars to guide the strategic direction of DRHC over the next three years:

  • Be a Great Place to Work

  • Ensure Strong Foundations

  • Lead New Solutions

This new strategic plan was developed with input from staff, physicians, volunteers, community and regional partners, and most importantly, patients and family members through various focus groups, interviews, and surveys.
In addition to new strategic pillars and priorities, the Board of Directors also approved new mission and vision statements to guide the organization:

OUR MISSION: We are an innovative rural health centre that exists to enhance the health of the patients and communities we serve.
OUR VISION: To be recognized as an innovative centre of excellence in rural healthcare.

"After a challenging last few years we are at a crucial time in healthcare evolution." says Doreen Armstrong-Ross, President & Chief Executive Officer at DRHC. "Empowered, Progressive, Innovative Care is a catalyst for DRHC's commitment to accelerate innovation toward excellence in rural health care. We will do this by supporting staff and physicians, building partnerships and collaboration, ensuring clinical and operational quality, advancing health equity for Indigenous peoples, and creating a safe and inclusive environment to benefit our communities, patients, and their families."

"Developing Empowered, Progressive, Innovative Care has been a great opportunity for the Board to hear from our community, and reflect on how we can improve healthcare services to meet the unique needs of Northwestern Ontario," says Brock Moore-Bunney, Chair of the Board of Directors of DRHC. "We were able to really look at who we are as an organization, where we want to be in the future, and determine how we want to get there using a very patient-centred lens."

The full strategic plan is available to read from DRHC's website.
