Specialty Clinic

Specialty Clinic is a busy clinic space that provides access to specialist services that reduces the need to travel to access specialist care. We offer the administrative clinical supports to our visiting specialist program, including Orthopedic, Urological, and Gynecological, ENT, plastics, clinical and endoscopy consultation, and procedural follow-ups. This clinic offers the access to medical specialties such as Rheumatology, Pediatrics, Orthotics, and Endoscopy.

Telemedicine Services

Telemedicine is a service offered at the DRHC with the goal of reducing the travel requirements for community members to access to the healthcare services not offered with in Dryden. We are a member of the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN), a virtual care network that offers access to 239 consultants across 41 specialties, including

  • Cancer Care Ontario
  • Orthopedics
  • Nephrology
  • Neurology
  • Advanced Wound Care/ Vascular
  • Gerontology
  • Psychiatry
  • Rheumatology

Our department includes 3 nurses who facilitate your appointment and can offer navigational support for any additional assessments, diagnostics or medical care prescribed within your appointment.

With consent, they will attend the appointment with you to support any assessment requirements of the specialist and ensure you understand the information shared. Documentation from your specialist appointment through OTN will be shared with your referring practitioner.

The technology helps to reduce the travel requirements for patients in our region, and ensures health equity for all members of our community.
