Remuneration and Incentives:

  • Dryden is an eligible community under the Northern Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative - physicians (family medicine and specialists) that establish a full-time practice in Dryden are eligible for $122,821 over four years!
  • Physicians that continue to practice full-time in Dryden after four years are eligible for an annual $7460.95 through the Northern Physician Retention Initiative.
  • The Dryden Regional Health Services Foundation also provides up to $12,500 in moving expenses and a $25,000 signing bonus on a return-of-service agreement.
  • Practicing in Dryden makes you eligilbe for Canada Student Loan forgiveness - up to $60,000 over 5 years

  • Build an exciting mixed practice, including family medicine (clinic), ED, hospitalist, obstetrics, surgical assist, and/or anesthesia.
  • Influence the next generation of doctors! Affiliated with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM U), DRHC is a busy teaching facility for medical learners and residents from NOSM and beyond.

Interested in Locum Opportunities?

General Surgery

Dryden participates in the Northern Specialist Locum Program (NSLP) for general surgery assignments. Assignments can range in length and are often a mix of slates and on-call. Locums receive renumeration for on-call and sessional time, travel days, and a daily honorarium, plus receive reimbursement for flights, car rental, and accommodation expenses.
