Nursing Students

We are looking for driven, hard-working students pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse to join out team this summer as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA).

Personal Care Assistants are valued members of the care team and work under the direction of Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, and the Nurse Manager. PCAs support patient care, assist with appropriate clinical tasks, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-centred environment.

As a PCA at DRHC, you will:

  • Provide supportive patient care under the direction of RN/RPN staff
  • Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and patient comfort
  • Take vital signs, assist with clinical tasks appropriate to training level
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and well-stocked patient care environment
  • Assist with patient transport, specimen handling, and basic clinical procedures
  • Support communication between patients, families, and the care team
  • Uphold patient privacy, dignity, and DRHC's Code of Conduct
  • Participate in safety briefings, shift handover, and team-based care

Rehab Students

If you are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Kinesiology, and are considering a future career in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, apply to work with us as a Rehabilitation Summer Student.

The Rehabilitation summer student is a valuable member of the healthcare team and works under the direction of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist in providing a range of health care services.

As a Rehabilitation Summer Student at DRHC, you will:

  • Participate in assessments and patient programming;
  • Support mobility, exercise, and patient programming;
  • Work directly with experiences physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and rehab assistants;
  • Work with patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
